Since the Halloween holiday is approaching I though it would be a good idea to bring up another costume topic. Here in the United States you can usually expect to see at least one guy dressed as a girl. He can either be a porn star or a fat lady, either way it is hilarious! On the other hand there are guys who like to dress as girls, not for just Halloween, but for the heck of it. And these guys actually go outside into society. Not dressed as Cher but as a anime character.

Out of all the weird perverted things otaku's bring with them, there is actually a cuter more girl friendly side. This off the bandwagon style has even dug its claws into famous American celebrities such as Gwen Stefani. Her fascination with the Japanese has lead her to create an American line called Harajuku Girls which consists of make up, perfume, clothing, dolls, purses, stationery's, shoes, hair accessories, jewelery, and much more.

You could say most otaku shy away from big group interaction. They tend to be the kids who sat alone at lunch time in high school reading a manga, in the computer lab no matter what the time was, the person teachers went to for computer problems, or just couldn't stop talking about the hot new video game. But others are more out going and I have found the drama department to be the most fan filled. This type of otaku are spontaneous, crazy, and love dressing up as their favorite characters.

Hello everyone and welcome to 'Lets Talk Otaku'! And for those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, here is a brief definition. Otaku (oh-tah-kooh) is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly anime, manga, or video games.

But there is hope! Not all fans of anime, manga, and video games are like this. Most are pretty normal. You just have to look for the ones with people skills and know social faux pas.
